Great shot, nice flight action and an even nicer background. Gonna be eagle overload in these forums soon. I'm heading off to Haines AK for 3 days of shooting the largest BE gathering. If they have all shown up already could be around 3000 there.

Thank you, everyone. The fall colors were slightly muted by the very bright grey cloudy skies, but they do help still with backgrounds.

Here's another eagle, but with not such a nice BG to look at. The sky lightened up a lot behind the overcast, which made for some shots with virtually white BGs. But the good news is that it's not actually blown out. No blinkies on this shot.

Thanks, Morris. I'll play around with that wing some this weekend. The RAW file definitely has all the data in it, so it's just a matter of me not completely mucking it up as I try to tease out the detail from the shadow!

Nice shot Glenn and nice to meet you the other day. In levels, you could see the blown blacks by holding the alt key down while sliding the black point around.
