p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Red Foxes on the Green (8)

My buddy took me to a spot he knew a den of Foxes lived near this golf course. I've never seen a Fox before in my life. It was quite a treat! I'm not sure what to make of the perfectly manicured grass beneath the subject's feet. These look totally staged! These animals apparently are very used to being fed by the locals. They had no fear of us. Made for a fun afternoon anyway

Cool, Conrad. You've got some excellent shots there. Once when I worked at NASA Ames back in the early nineties, I was out walking in a field and saw a rooster ring-neck pheasant (about 30 feet from me) being stalked by a red fox. I didn't have a camera. I saved the pheasant.

Conrad,
These shots are real beauties, the kept greens do kind of take the "wildness" feel
out of the shots but I would have been thrilled to see and photographs these foxy animals.

Gee willikers, Conrad- these are swell pictures .
I especially like the one galomphing towards you- a fun shot.
Golf courses often grow "replacement" grass along their edges in case they need a quick replacement; that might be what was going on.
But the nicely mown lawn doesn't bother me- as you said, golf-course foxes are only semi-wild.
What's important is your photography is super-duper!

How you found so many stuffed foxes to place on the AstroTurf amazes me Conrad... These are all winners. I'd be happy with any of them ~ Ron

Great set Conrad,

I think you need to convince them to let the grass grow

Great light and wonderful low angles. Can't you make that fairway turn to rough in pp.! This isn't considered baiting by proxy? Quiet, I won't tell anyone. We certainly don't need to go there again! I'd be back there every day! Don

HAHAHA! These critters were simply very accustomed to people! No baiting here!

Great to see you out on the course Conrad, didn't know you had time to golf

I agree on the staged look on #1 but a great shot it still is. I remember as 7th grader one day we were running track and a red fox decided to join in behind us and trot along, that was cool. Too bad they are being fed, not good for obvious reasons

A most enjoyable set and you got much more than just a glimpse to enjoy them, lucky you.........

They just kept following us as we moved about Karl. We tried to get them to walk on "rougher" grass, but they wouldn't!!

Conrad:
Well done. The green grass makes an excellent combination with the red fox.
