Where do I go to vote? I don't see it on the Kickstarter page.

The vote will take place at the end of the campaign through the backers. If you're a backer, you'll have a vote!

So, today is the first wedding I have since Spencer announced this. As I pack up my grids, I am both angry and elated. Angry I still have to used these, elated that next year, I will burn them.

Uhh... have any of you guys seem this?

Seems like magmod has some very stiff competition right out of the gate.

I'm not really seeing how that's stiff competition. Yes, they are speedlight modifiers but that would mean all attachments are stiff competition.

I also believe these were discussed several months ago on the forum. If not here I know I saw the link or similar a while ago.

You don't see how it's competition? Well, it's a more complete product for a similar (if not lower) price. It's worth talking about... and if you're running the Magmod campaign worth taking very seriously.

I had seen that spinlight system. It's certainly more appealing than many alternatives but it looks quite a bit bulkier than MagMod.

I don't personally own MagMod as I'm selling all the speedlights it would fit on but the magnetic attachment is genius. The product also looks more refined if you ask me, not that the Spinlight looks bad or anything

Hey Jamie, when you say molded diffuser, you mean that little dome thing you put on the end of the flash right? I'm curious in what scenario you've found you prefer to use that, because I've basically found it is only helpful if I'm shooting with a 14-24 in a reception with off-camera flash and I want to spread the flash a bit wider than it can normally go. Outside of that there is no real benefit in my experience and actually it can throw harsh light to the sides that is undesirable.

A moulded diffuser basically makes the flash a bare-bulb flash, which is particularly useful when you insert a speedlight into a larger modifier like a softbox or a beauty dish.

Spencer could easily release a magnetic flag modifier (ala Neil Van Niekerk's "Black Foamie Thing") and essentially put the Spinlight360 out of business.

Actually, that's a brilliant idea...I want my cut.

I think the Spinlight has been out for a while now, not sure when it was released. To me it seems geared more for on-camera flash users. Once round 2 is ready, you'll see that MagMod is more designed around off-camera flash usage, although many new products will also be dual-purpose for on-camera use as well.

I think both systems are very very different if you ask me.

For sure, though it's actually not even close to as good as a bare bulb, it does help for sure to spread the illumination if you're using it inside of modifiers like that.

I just wanted to congratulate Spencer on his huge success with the MagMod starter campaign. Over 200k raised... absolutely amazing.

sboerup, it looks like you're fully funded. But it also looks like there's 1 more $149 early-bird available. If there's a way for me to take that, I'll happily take it.

Of course I waited just a few hours too long. I suck.
