Not to the extent that each and every feather would be in exactly the same position, the catchlight in the eye exactly the same, the shadow on the body exactly the same, etc.

It's very clear that the image on the stamp wasn't "the same bird a day or two later," but was instead the same photo manipulated to look different.

true, odds of such will not really be likely, plus feathers of bird moults and is not stable, it is consistently changing even at continuous shutter shots

Stamp controversy: Pixman satisfied to have embarrassed Pos Malaysia - Yahoo News

Filipino photographer Romy Ocon has decided to not sue Pos Malaysia over the alleged theft of his photo for use in the postal service’s Visit Malaysia 2014 stamp series.

“As things stand now, I have obtained my major objective - stop Pos Malaysia from using my work without permission and make the matter a public embarrassment.

“The vast majority of comments on the issue has but one verdict - Pos Malaysia is guilty of photo theft and gross ignorance,” he told us in an email interview.

Come clean, Pos Malaysia
Jeswan Kaur | November 7, 2013

Looks like it is not only Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak who has embarrassed the nation with his bag of lies spewed a week ago at an interview with CNN’s chief international correspondent journalist Christiane Amanpour.

Now it is Pos Malaysia who has shamed the country by stealing the works of foreign photographers for use in its stamp series.

The very day Najib was busy spinning a yarn at the CNN interview, a 48-year-old Filipino wildlife photographer accused Pos Malaysia of snitching his bird photo and using it in Pos Malaysia’s stamp collection for Visit Malaysia Year 2014 (VMY).

Thanks, I'm in northern Philippines, while the supertyphoon hit in the central part of our islands, over 1000 km away. Hoping for the best for my fellow islanders along the storm's path.

Good to know you're safe. Things aren't looking so good for many over there based on early reports but I'm sure there will be more bad news as they get communication up & running again.

Thanks for the concern, everyone. I and my folks are ok, the record-breaking supertyphoon spared Manila and most of Luzon, but it hit Visayas very hard.

As news start to trickle in from the hard hit areas, it looks very bad indeed.

Romy, there's quite a few people in a bad situation right now. I have a friend that lives in Roxas City, which appears to be in the Western Visayas. I've never been to the country, so I don't know a lot about the geography.

He says that things are a mess there, and a young lady I know said basically that "everything is broken" but that kind of damage can be repaired. It will take some time though.

Photographers, there are ways to help if you can afford to donate a bit. I know that the Salvation Army always gets involved with world events, as they did in Japan after the Fukushima Earthquake/Tsunami. World Vision also is getting involved. Lots of charities around that will provide help to those that REALLY need it.

Thanks for the link!

Of course it wasn't a draft, as it was already posted online by Pos Malaysia for advanced orders when I wrote the OP.

For the record, nobody from Pos Malaysia (or any of the agencies concerned) has contacted me at all to date. An apology and acknowledgment of the error would've been nice.

That would require humility.

Was this a once in a lifetime opportunity to photograph a rare one of the kind White Fronted Falconet or a fairly common bird found in Malaysia ?
