I love the Meyer Trioplan flares, but it is sometimes not enough.
For this I have stripped off the AR coating of two lenses, a Helios 44 completely (all not glued surfaces) and on the front ~6 lenses of a zoom lens.
Both work well, but not ideal.
On one Helios 44 I removed the black color from some internal parts, including the blacked lens surfaces. This works well, but I think some flares donīt look "real" - even old lenses inner parts are black, so these reflections are not "natural".
Tests with ~5 cheap UV cut filters stacked in front of a normal lens worked not good - until I make some big fingerprints on on or two lens surfaces.
Another way, and very easy to get reflections when the sun is not in the image, or near image field, is to work with a big filter or even better window glass, in front of the lens - but not parallel, but tilted to reflect the sun inside the lens.
