I've been a NY'er all my life, growing up on Long Island... I finally went to the park on the Brooklyn-side of the bridge. Such a beautiful place when you slow your life down and make the time to take it all in.

Thanks for looking. Any comments appreciated.

-Frank

Frankie!

Living the dream...

Love #1 for the expanse and color and #3 for the perspective. Always wanted to get there myself.

Welcome to my backyard! I really like Brooklyn Bridge #2: I walk past this every day and never noticed that perspective before.

Thanks my friend! I felt a bit embarrassed as I snapped these, like I was remiss in my duties as a New Yorker by not having a more intimate knowledge about the history, etc. of such an iconic place...

NY misses you brother.

Thank you! This was actually the first shot I took, after finding a place to park up the block, and making my way down through the park and the boardwalk/bridge (which was really cool, btw), I looked up and it struck me.

You've got one heck of a view out your backyard!

Attractive imaging but the convergence is killing these for me.

Alas, without a tilt-shift, what are my options? Leaving some breathing room around the edges and try to straighten in post with Photoshop? I'm open to other suggestions. Thanks.

Those are the three choices: accept perspective tilt, use TSE lens, or add space and correct in LR or PS.

Nice shots, regardless.

Rotor,

NY native here, born in Brooklyn! I know it's a tough situation. In some cases, I've taken a ladder with me when I was close enough to the subject so I can get the camera higher. That probably would not work with such a vast and large subject as yours. I also can stand on top of my van when the opportunity is perfect. which ain't often.

Another proud NY'er!

Thanks for the tip!

Best you can do is to tilt your lens downward and work the top third of the frame... in camera tilt fix. The other thing you can do is back up from scene, shoot around 30mm or so and stitch it.

Thanks. I never thought of the stitching idea. I shot these with my camera on a gorilla pod wrapped around a railing, about waist-high. I wonder if the shot would come out much different if I had it on a tall tripod?
