Nice in flight shot monkeyman. Personally I'm afraid of large bird flying overhead, big bird means big payload.

Thanks, Steve. He wasn't THAT close (630mm FOV...and I cropped some)

Plenty of time to avoid any ordinance. Now, Snow Geese are another matter altogether!

our favorite haunts several years ago. My 100-400 took a direct hit at the hood/barrel union...it
wasn't pretty. When they group blast-off it sounds like hail on the hood of your vehicle. Just sayin'

Don't forget face shield, I saw a man got hit in the face while taking video of fly over pelicans. I live near the Carlsbad beach, I've seen many victims of pelican bombs. Zoo gorillas are just as bad, a photographer had to take cover when a male gorilla was throwing his crap towards him at the San Diego Zoo.

I have vivid memories of Samson, the Buffalo Zoo's male gorilla in the 60's/70's, picking the fresh feces from his rectum, sampling it, and then throwing it at the unsuspecting visitors who didn't know his m.o.. We would die laughing at the frantic zoo visitor trying to wipe the hot, steamy slime from his/her clothing, hair and even face. He was a character. I'm really sorry that all the Zoos have put up those glass partitions. Here's our new male earlier this year taken through the glass.
