I use a 35 1.8dx on my d600 and it works great. Some vignetting at some angles and such. But nothing too bad. It is kinda nice for some shots. It give it a look.

With the new sigma 18-35 1.8 coming out, I was thinking of getting it since I also have a D7100. I was wondering if it would work on the D600 too? I know it will work in DX mode but what if I force it in to FX mode? Will it be worthless? Will there be a circle image like when you use an 8mm fish?

I can live with some vignette but a ton would not work well.

I bet that it would work fine at 35mm, but you would start to get vignetting around 30mm, with severe vignetting as you go wider. Once you take the vignetting into account, it's probably not much better than a prime.

I've never owned one, though :-).

Or is there a full frame version coming? I thought I read something about one but I can't remember where I read that.

Maybe see if you can borrow an 18-xxx lens and pop it on the D600 in FX mode.

From 18-35 I think the field of view will be very similar.

24-70 f/2.0 OS will be coming this year, but I guess it will be priced around 2000$.

This is actually a very old topic in that its been here several times.... I used to shoot my 35 f/1.8 on my D700, but both are gone now, and I no longer have any DX glass.... The vignetting with the 35 was funky.... Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't.

I remember someone posted a few pictures of said lens on an APS-H and a FX body, I suggest using the search function, as I can't remember the exact link, nor the website. But I'm sure it was posted here, on FM.
