Another interesting rumor. They seem to just be pumping out lenses left and right.

Amazing, good to have great lenses competing (and lowering) against nikon's pricing.

What I really want to see from them is a 24 1.4A... sweet dreams!

If it's wall to wall sharp at f/8, I'm buying it. I'm groaning about the 82mm threads though.

What Hussain said. Plus that rumored 24-70 f/2.

I don't see a price point yet. Anyone? Bueller?

Seems that 82mm is the new 77mm.

Yeah, I wish it was a smaller filter mount, but of well. I'm just waiting for the 24-70. So far all the rumors of sigma lenses have been true.

That seems to be the replacement for my ageing Tamron 24-135mm
I see 82mm as a positive here. It means they are serious about sharpness and vignetting.

It WAS up on the Sigma site. Now it's gone. One of the shortest-lived lenses in history.

A good fast 135 would be awesome. Nikon always had good 135mm lenses. They stopped developing them though.

It will be interesting to see how it compares to the Nikon 24-120 f4 in both performance and price.

Interesting lens. Sigma is steadily rolling out a line of premium lenses; I wonder when they will get serious about their camera offering. It seems to me that if they could develop a full frame Foveon sensor in the 20mp range and stick it into a body with decent ergonomics that they may have a compelling product. I'd certainly be interested in a high resolution, true color sensor in a no-nonsense body with a few Sigma lenses on par with the 1.4/35.

I'm betting they are fixing their lenses before they go into the DSLR market seriously. Its smart, have some of the best lenses at an affordable price, make money from that first, then produce a great camera. I bet people will flock to it. If they can make a D4 type camera for $4000 new, I'd switch in a heartbeat. Thanks to sigma I own more third party lenses than Nikon lenses now. I'm just waiting for a sports 70-200 and the rumored 24-70 f2 and I won't own any Nikon glass.

I don't know if they could make a better version of the 24/1.4... The Nikon version is pretty damn sharp at this point, and wide-angles are usually harder to design (not to mention heavier) than mid-ranged or longer lenses.

Would hate to see my 24/1.4 lose its' value.

Sure they can. Same optical quality, metal housing, 30% less cost
