I'm betting they are fixing their lenses before they go into the DSLR market seriously. Its smart, have some of the best lenses at an affordable price, make money from that first, then produce a great camera. I bet people will flock to it. If they can make a D4 type camera for $4000 new, I'd switch in a heartbeat. Thanks to sigma I own more third party lenses than Nikon lenses now. I'm just waiting for a sports 70-200 and the rumored 24-70 f2 and I won't own any Nikon glass.
Interesting lens. Sigma is steadily rolling out a line of premium lenses; I wonder when they will get serious about their camera offering. It seems to me that if they could develop a full frame Foveon sensor in the 20mp range and stick it into a body with decent ergonomics that they may have a compelling product. I'd certainly be interested in a high resolution, true color sensor in a no-nonsense body with a few Sigma lenses on par with the 1.4/35.
