Anybody have any experience with this combination? Pros . . . Cons?

The 80-400 will work just fine on the Wimberley Sidemount. One note on balancing the 80-400 though. When finding the most efficient balancing point, set the lens at a millimeter setting somewhere in between 80 and 400 like 250mm. It should balance mostly level at that point and in between without the lens crashing down forward or back.

Works great for me. I really like this combo. I use it with the RRS BH-40
