Hello
I'm planning to buy nikon PC-e, confusing between 24mm and 45mm
Does anyone give me the advises? Which one is good?
I have 85mm already
Thanks

I have both and use them for landscapes, they are both good but it all depends which focal length you want.

The 24 is a nice wide but not too wide, I find the 24 needs stopping down a bit to get the best from it but when you nail it it's good and sharp, F8-F11 is where I'm usually at anyway.

The 45 gives a nice natural perspective and is super sharp. I think I use the 24 the most but the 45 also gets some good use.

I have the 24, wish I had the 45 again, one day. I still shift to stitch 3 images together with the 24 when I thought that getting it to replace the 45 I would stop. I always do it in portrait mode & end up with square images with centre horizons.

Thanks to all,

I have 14-24mm, should I buy 24mm pc-e? or 45mm. I know 24mm pc-e will be super sharp

I'd say both. What are you using it for?

The perspective changes from the shift are more useful with the 24, whereas the tilt is more useful on the 45. I find 24 more useful overall.

Id say that if you are getting the results you want with the 14-24 then get the 45, if you feel you need perspective control and tilt at 24 then get the 24.

If it helps then my reasoning for getting the 24 PC-e for landscapes instead of the 14-24 was that I wanted tilt so I could get close foreground objects and objects on the horizon sharp in one shot at large apertures without the need to focus stack. Shift also comes in handy for placing the horizon where you want it while still keeping the camera level, however I do find the 24 suffers a bit at the edges if you shift too far.
