My main camera body is D700, but sometimes it feels a bit too heavy to carry around so I decided to get V1 system. Now I have V1 + 10/2.8 + 18.5/1.8 + 10-30 + 30-110. I'm really happy with the optics and quite satisfied with the sensor.

The controls are the biggest issue for me. ISO is pain to change and the rear wheel which is used to change between video and photo modes is not stiff enough and gets turned accidentally quite often. And what's up with the hot shoe for the flash? Why couldn't they use the normal one? :/

Now I need some encouragement to not sell this little camera Lets see what this system can do and collect the photos here!

I'll start

V1, 10/2.8 @ ISO100, 1/1600, f/5.6

V1, 30-110/3.8-5.6 @ ISO1600, 1/60, f/3.8

how do you find the 18.5mm? I was thinking of getting that lens too - I carry my V1 around with me every day... its always in my shoulder bag lately with my 10mm mounted. I find the 10-30 makes it too bulky, so I like to stick to the 10mm most days.

I like the V1 in spite of it's a** backwards controls and flash shoe. Now if Nikon were to use the controls and flash shoe of the P7800 on a V3 and keep same battery of the V1, D7100, D600, D800, I'd consider upgrading. The V2 is a non-starter for me.

Here's one from this weekend. V1 + FT1 + 70-200

A couple from the summer. V1 + FT + 70-300VR

On my blog I have a few recent posts of images taken with the V1.

It's the sharpest lens I have for V1 and f/1.8 is nice with the small sensor. It also has quite small barrel distortion. I'd say its only weakness is that it's roughly the same size as 10-30.

Just bought a mint condition 18.5 from another FMer for $160, including shipping. I'm very pleased with it.

I use exclusively the V1 now. I have 2, one with the Sigma 100-300 f/4 + TC 1.4 Kenko mounted on the dumb fotodiox adapter, and one with the NIKKOR-P 55mm f/3.5 also on a Fotodiox adapter.

Taken with the 55mm...

It's nice to actually see almost all the ants in focus

Macro work is something this can be used pretty well because the depth of field is huge compared to FX setup. If only there would be a decent flash shoe *_*

And I would also like to have 13mm lens with f/2 or bigger maximum aperture. I feel that f/2.8 is just not enough and 18.5mm is often too long for the stuff I'd like to shoot.

And one more:

This is a test shot I made before shooting the "real version" with my recently acquired RB67 medium format camera. I wanted to compare what kind of difference there is if the film/sensor size is ~30 times bigger

V1 + 30-110 VR @ ISO200, 30mm, f/4.5
