So sad, this is the most interesting thread going, except for the images threads which are always preferred
Adobe? I have no issues with Adobe, Lightroom is great and relatively reasonably priced. Elements is pretty good except they've been going sorta Microsofty with useless popups asking if you want to do stuff you don't. Anyway the full-up Photoshop and assorted add ons seems like its for corporate professional graphic artist yahoos who are buying on business contracts anyway. So leasing is just a business model.
Anyway my real grief was with Intuit/Quicken. Dang, the whole reason I bought a computer back in the late 80s sometime was to run Quicken and keep up with all my various credit cards, investments and 401Ks. Upgraded until Q2002 when Intuit went all wonky and didn't much support Mac anymore. When I got my Intel iMac I thought I was SOL until I discovered Rosetta. Been running on that until OS 10.8 decided not to support Rosetta. Now what? Tried other buggy software with great frustration until I thought I was back to a frigging spread sheet again. Then low and behind Intuit releases a Quicken 2007 version compiled on the new Mac OS!!! And, they only charge $15 for it!!! Problems solved. So there you go, just when you think some corporation, Intuit, is totally screwed, they come around and do something nice. Humph, damn company, they don't even have a Contact Us email so I can thank them. Thats why I stuck you guys with this Well, that and Friday night and a coupl'a beers.
Oh, and thanks for posting Indy. I went to the few sites where I used the same user/passwd which also had my credit card info and changed.
Cheers.
