Kodachrome 25 portrait of jazz great Joe Zawinul taken in the late eighties in Malibu. Joe played with Cannonball Adderly and later with Weather Report. Nikkor 105 2.5.

Absolutely amazing shot of a top level musician. Joe also played an enormous part of Miles Davis' music.

Some really nice shots in this thread...nice to see a film thread. Nice to find out who all the old film shooters are here.

Lovely shot of Zawinul, Peter.

All taken with an F3HP on Acros 100.

Love the specular highlights in these car shots. They're so appropriate for the era. Generally very nice tonality in the black and white as well.

Another portrait. Starr Parodi played keyboard in the band for the original Arsenio Hall Show. This was shot for Mackie and their mixing boards. Either 105 or 180, but probably 105. T-Max 100. Drum scanned.

Time to send this thread back to the top!

I've been a bit time crunched lately, so I had this roll processed and scanned at the lab... This is Neopan 400 in what ever chemistry they used?? hmmmm, not as pleased with the direct neg scan as a scanned print? but what can you do... Hopefully I will find some time to get into the darkroom in the near future...

Gotta love the dynamic range in negs.

Mt. Rainier - July 2000.
Likely Fuji film of some sort (likely ISO 400). 20/2.8D Nikon on a FM2n.

When I shoot film with one of my 40 Film Camera, i am wandering how the image shall look in case
i forget all of them and use my D800.
I love film cameras more for their build and feel. Some times i produce unusual images with them and i do not think
it the the film, it must be the mood. Holding the Nikon F and listening to music from the 60's takes me there
like Time Machine and then my vision is different. It is all about Creativity.
The images in this thread are a reminder to the timeless nature of film Photography.
This experience is identical to my reaction to old film images printed in old National Geographic ....
A lot of Grain but still great images which were captured by great photographers who did not have any
idea about far future Digital Cameras....
And last can you specify the Developer used for the B&W? (Brand,Dilution etc...)
Thanks

It's hard to top Velvia! Great shot.

Shot this on tmax only because I wanted to develop and get results as soon as possible.

May have to jump back to digital since I am so impatient.

Unless you're shooting slide film, it's just not that hard to develop your own C-41.

Nikon F6 with Nikon 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED AF-S VR

Nikon F6 with Nikon 85mm f/1.4D IF AF

Couple of my recent favorites. Probably with Kodak Ektar 100. that's what I'm shooting most these days.

I just ordered some Mpix's envelopes. Getting ready to shoot a few rolls. It would be my first try of film on a Nikon body.

Thanks Guy! I really like them too

but in all honesty... I think I have been on a bit of a film binge lately... between my Rolleiflex 2.8 and my FM2n & F5 I've definitely been picking up the film cameras more than the D700... I've mixed up a fresh batch of D76 and have developed 7 rolls of film in the last week... I'm in love all over again! I just need to find a time to get back in the dark room and do some printing!
