p.1 #1 · Nikon Film Shots

Am I missing the obvious? There must already be a Nikon thread of film images. Unless it's been mothballed.

I didn't see one with the FM search feature, but that isn't definitive.

I haven't had a Nikon film camera since the late 80s with a FE2 used for architectural shots with the 28mm PC lens. Kind of weird to buy a camera now (N50), but it came with a lens I wanted (AF 28-85), and had a SB24 flash for only $66. Hard to pass up!

The N50 works, and maybe it's different film, different Costco processing, different LR5, but the images look more appealing to me. I went so far as to buy a later model (N80) with a little more control. Practically free -- $20 plus shipping from San Diego. Jeez! Pretty soon these bodies will be used for mugging tourists.

Not that I'm abandoning digital!

Anyhow, if there are already film threads floating around, my apologies.

N50, AF 28-85, Fuji Superia 100, Costco develop and scan, LR5 adjustments to JPGs. Tested on-camera flash today on the last shot.

oh, I like this already!!

Vive la Film!!

I still shoot regularly with my FE, F5 and my favourite of them all, FM2n... I just recently found out that Fuji neopan 400 has been discontinued, so I am working on stockpiling some in the freezer. Currently have 30 rolls in there, and will hopefully add some more soon.

Here are a few film shots... these were scanned from 11x14 prints that I did in the dark room.

Thanks for starting this thread!

Jim, Nikon film-shots are spread all over FM ;-) But it's nice to have a dedicated thread - thanks!

3 October is the German Unity Day, time to post a Trabant-picture ;-)

This was shot 1993 or 1994, Nikon F-601 probably with a cheap Sigma-zoom, scan from a real wet darkroom-print

Thanks folks! Great to see your photos.

I am jealous -- you all have rain in your photos! It's beginning to cool a little here in So. Cal., but some rain would be nice.

Yes, I've seen film shots in the Alt forum, and sporadically in the Nikon forum. Hope this helps everyone scratch that itch.

Love the film thread. Gunzorro, that 28-85 lens was my favorite "go to" lens on my N90s. I still have it and I will probably never let it go.

Thanks Greg!

I previously owned the manual AIS version (which was super sharp!), and the AF-D version (not quite as sharp, but more convenient). This time it's the regular AF version. I should receive a D200 tomorrow, so then I'll see how it does on the digital. Looks pretty nice in the over-sharpened scans.

The first two were taken with a Nikon 6006 and a 28-105mm Nikkor lens. The Civil War re-enactment was with a Fuji slide film and the garden was with a Fuji print film.
The picture of the ape was taken at the New Orleans zoo with a Pentax SP 500. That was when I first started out for the second time in photography

I'm not doing something right, as I am not able to attach the images to this post.

Not at all, Flickr links work just fine
Just follow these instructions:
At the photo page, bottom right, you will see three icons
From right to left - Star for favorites, speech bubble, and a frame with an arrow pointing outwards
Click on the last, choose 'Grab the HTML/BBCode', select 'BBCode' from the radio button at the bottom
Select the size you want and simply copy the whole chunk from the text box and paste it in here
Hope that helps
