Well with all the noise surrounding the release I am expecting something big.

From what I've seen so far, the noise seems to be pretty much confined to this thread... ;-)

Why listen to the rest, when you're with the best?

I thought it was mostly coming from the toilets at Canon.

This thread reminds me of Christmas, when everyone is guessing what's in the box under the Christmas tree.

Except I know what it will be - a WiFi enabled SL2.

Biggest mistake Canon will make is to kill off the APS-H sensor format.

APS-H is dead. Anything good you can say about making the sensor smaller is even better on 1.6. It's over. Really. Forever.

PS, It's not coming back.

Saturday is when the geezer journalists (Kai W types) are free. I told you before - it's a wifi enabled SL2.

They've booked a friend of mine to model - there will be two models smiling and blah, blah, blah. I think they may have some exotic cars on display too. Since it is the anniversary of Shelby cobra blah, blah, blah.

Huge announcement - Terry White is stoked to be one of the first to get his hands on what he describes as Canon's biggest photographic advancement since the A90.

Unless Canon significantly improves it's sensor's low iso performance, which they have not done in the past 6+ years, then it will be more of the same, good tweaks to some already very good camera bodies.

+1, this is why I am not making any move from 1ds2 and 5d2. The sensor king will be king again, until then enjoy what you have.

Broken record! Just what are these oh-so-demanding situations where the terrible Canon sensors just can't cut it for you, and why is that over 50% of professional photographers have no practical issue with it? I suggest you spend way too much time worrying about abstract data and not actually taking photos. Reducing good photography to one data set (dynamic range) is as absurd as saying the only thing that matters about cars is their maximum speed.

I don't plan to update my 6D and 70D until 2020. Who knows what form factors cameras will take by then? Will all cameras be mirrorless? Will Canon sensors finally achieve the same low ISO dynamic range as Sony's offerings?

yeah. i mean, i have no idea how i survived shooting velvia. clearly i should have just thrown my cameras away and slit my wrist with such poor dynamic range.

I sure hope no one truly believes we will see something new on the 12th. There hasn't been even a whisper on any of the rumour sites and the 12th is 2 days away and a Saturday at that.
