p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Sunrise at Trillium Lake

The following two images were taken at Trillium Lake, Oregon a couple of years ago. One is just before sunrise and the other just after sunrise. Those who have been there recently know that the foreground is now all crushed rock driveway as the grass has been all mowed off. It is very unattractive foreground and so I could not include it in my frame.

1. Which image you do you like?
2. Will you prefer the horizon at the center with a very symmetrical image? It is quite peaceful and serene, so a static scene may work well.

Thank you for your comments and criticism.

#2 for me, the light is more attractive
Great composition and reflections in both.

#2 for me, too. Love sunlight on the trees, and see-through fog. #1 is also very good, but #2 is better

Both shots work for me. The first is more serene, the second has a bit more drama with the side lighting. Horizon placement is fine with me, although a pano crop (with some off the bottom) would probably also work well.

AMaji,
They both work well for me- just differently.
Each conveys the feel for the time of day it was.
Depending on what you think of such things- I believe both would look much better with some sort of border instead of the grey along all four sides.
In a gallery, most people would have some sort of frame around their pics (as opposed to the print being flush with the wall).
Why not try it here and see if you like it?
Doesn't have to be elaborate- just something to keep the images from melding into the grey background.

Thank you Charlie. I had let my subscription to FM lapse, as I am not doing much of buy/sell. Hence, I just have to link these images from Flickr and hence don't get the frames.

Thank you for the suggestion.
