This image came from one of those driving down the road and someone yells "stop!" experiences. The someone was me, when I saw this scene. Question is, do the silhouettes work? I can brighten the foreground a bit but it gets very noisy. I liked the rays and the lone tree in front of the bright lake, and of course the skyline. Does it work?

This is pretty much SOOC, but I changed the horizon slightly to level the lake. This makes the left side seem to slope down, which I think it does in reality, but it seemed like the lake should look level.

If you cannot lighten the foreground, I would crop out most of it. In addition to the god's rays, the silhouette of the tree is very nice.

Thanks CamperJim. Per your suggestion, here's more of a pano look. I think I like it better -- less dead space all around.
