Here are two perspectives on the color and dynamic range of this image.

After discovering that 9 fps on the EM5 is sufficient for hand-held HDR on the go, I'm trying to apply it even without a tripod handy.

The ability to change the roll-off in the highlights and keep all the detail in the shadows is really interesting. Although I lean heavily in the photorealistic direction, a little shift in hues doesn't seem like much of a issue.

The first version is a three exposure HDR stack using local adaptation with some fine tuning of exposure and gamma. The second is from the straight +/-0 eV frame.

I prefer the second version.

Thanks Jo.
I think I do as well, probably due to the higher contrast, but I also like the less muddy colors and lightness of the second one.

I wonder if it would come across as nicely as a print, or if it's helped by LCD screen brightness and pure whites? It's a boathouse I'll go back to again, so I'm trying to plan my next try.
