Eric- It is kind of you to offer such possibilities and effects. Honesty forces me to mention a couple of differences, however. My basic photographic approach was to travel to interesting places and look for things I liked. When I found them, I took pictures. When the little yellow boxes came back from Kodak, if I liked them, I might celebrate that evening with a glass of premium wine-in-a-box. And I assure you that my Kodachrome slides have aged more gracefully than I  .
Dorian- Nobody of importance came down from the sky  , but I share with you the thought that a redwood grove is a magnificent natural cathedral.
Tim- My experiences in the redwoods has been very similar to yours. Trying to match my feelings and emotions with photographic images has been a long and mostly unsuccessful experience. Occasionally things work out just right. But I always have a wonderful time wandering through those forests in complete silence.

Capturing the grandeur of the Redwoods is so extremely difficult. I have been very many times and I usually spend my time with my jaw on the ground in awe and come back with shots that I'm never happy with. Good on you for finding a way to photograph them that emphasis their size and allows you to add good level of creativity. I have really enjoyed this series. You have inspired my to revisit my files AND to revisit the far northern counties of CA.
