NEW Quiz, More Hummingbirds, Flowers&Critters 10

Hi PhotoFriends,

Today is my first day feeling like autumn is here. It’s a beautiful day!

My garden flowers and critters are winding down except for my Songbirds.

Here is a variety of captures from this past week. Two days ago is my last sighting of my Ruby Throated Hummingbirds. I haven’t seen he/she since. I hope he/she will return before heading south. My annuals are blooming nicely!

Let’s see what my Garden Critters are talking about today!

Pix 1…

Hummingbird…

I am dreaming of some delicious Hot Pink Beard-Tongue! Let me find some….

Pix 2…

Hummingbird…

“I found some Beard-Tongue. This is really delicious! I just love how the flowers glow and glisten. Its just remarkable how they look in the early morning light.”

Hmmmm… “do I see Mr. Chickadee with a seed in his mouth?”

Mrs. Gardener talking…

I know I chopped of his tail but I decided to still put it up because of how beautiful my hummer looks up against these gorgeous flowers! Looking at the whole picture, I think it comes off very colorful and pretty.

Also what makes my capture more special is that there are two very tiny bugs in it. Can you all see them

One is to the top left on a green leaf and the second one is under the pink flowers he has his beak in.

Pix 3…

Chickadee…

“I am trying to stay tucked in this azalea bush so that pretty Hummer won’t see me

Pix 4…

Beard-Tongue Close up…

Chickadee says, “Oh good the Hummer left, now I may try to hide in these glowing pink flowers and enjoy my seed in peace.”

Pix 5…

Tufted Titmouse…

“Hey Chickadee, I don’t think those tiny flowers will be able to hide you – you are bigger than you think!”

Pix 6…

Mrs. Finch says, “I agree with you Titmouse!”

Pix 7…

Mr. Finch…

“I also agree. Maybe the butterfly or spider can help hide the Chickadee?”

Pix 8…

Butterfly…

Looks over to Chickadee and says:

“I will come over and you can hide behind me so the Hummer won’t see you eat!!”

Pix 9…

Spider…

Spider says: “I can help hide the Chickadee if the butterfly can’t cover him up completely!”

Pix 10…

Here is your NEW flower QUIZ…

Can anyone guess the name of this white flower Think carefully because this is a tough one. It’s not something you might usually see. Think in the food family.

The answer to follow … GOOD LUCK

Thank you all for visiting my Garden flowers and critters again!
I know its sad but it may be time to put your garden clogs away for another year

Hope you enjoyed my TEN new photos….

Ah, BeeBalm, what a wonderful (and wonderfully narrated) tour of your garden!

The images are all terrific (I like the titmouse in particular--great detail, delicate color), but two things really stand out. First, the diversity. Plants, birds, and arachnids; add in a snake and a squirrel and you'll be ready for Noah's Ark. Second, the last image (white flower) is amazing. The colors, background, and distribution of focal points keep drawing me in. Sadly, I can't even venture a guess as to ID, but will look forward to see what the more learned plant lovers have to say.

BB you have done it again Wonderful set . 2, 3, 5 and 8 are my favorites of this fantastic set.
Love your narration, you do have a very clever imagination .

As to your question, are these some sort of onion flower?

What a great set that you presented here with very smooth narration. It is always my pleasure to see birds and flowers from your garden, and spiders too...

Another great set of photos BB. The commentary is fun too. I have to agree with Birdie about the last one - onion flower ~ Ron

Garlic, to keep the vampires away from your birds. Yay or nay? Loving the butterfly the most. Really nice set BB.

Narrative is almost as nice as the pictures...almost...curious what you'll come up with in eagle season. I do think Birdie nailed it...the stalks in the back give it away too..at first I thought it was some sort of potato...but I'm from Long Island...we grow up with potatoes on the brain..so I guess some sort of wild onion. I'll look forward to your next quiz when I get back at the end of the month...until then Alberta calls starting Sunday.

Great job and sorry some of the subjects will be headed out. That spider may be missing a leg? Sure like the chickadee!
