I am looking for the most comfortable messenger style bag for Nikon D600/24-85 lens combo. It needs to be comfortable for all day walk, needs to have rain cover and small extra space for Nikon 50mm lens and extra battery (maybe few other small accessories)
I currently have Lowepro Passport sling bag and it is comfortable to wear all day but no rain protection - recently get into thunderstorm and everything inside that bag was wet (no damage, but still)
Same bag should accommodate D800 with 60mm macro lens

Please advice

Can't you just get a rain cover for the Lowepro?

I highly recommend the Crumpler 5MDH (you can get the rain cover Paul referred to). It fits my D800 + mounted Sigma 35 1.4 & Sigma 85 1.4 in addition to other small items. Compact, comfortable & very well built.

Lowepro Passport have that strange shape, it would be hard to find a proper rain cover.

Lowepro Messenger AW either the 160 or the 180. Has a built in rain cover, plenty of room and very comfortable. I used my 180 with D800, 24-120, 300 f4, and a sb900. Extremely comfortable, recently spent a full summer day in Florida heat and humidity without any issue. Has the best strap that I have come accross. My bag of choice unless carrying my full kit or 4x5.

Check out the number of reviews on the net/you tube.

Agree with John. The Lowepro Pro Messenger AW bags are great. The best and most comfortable strap. And it have a raincover that you like. Here is my review of that bag. The 160 or 180 will be good for you.
