To me, the processing on the guys is better, but still too harsh. The women, look like they are washed out or kind of flat on my monitor.

I like these and I don't agree with douter about the women being washed out. They processing on guys is just a tad more edgy.

I wish there framing on female portraits wouldn't be so tight.

Nice stuff. The first one is my favourite.

I like 1 and 2. I think the processing on 3 and 4 don't quite work.

I'm not sure what the intention of these are so I will assume that they were maybe done for practice and aren't for actors or professional use.

In my opinion the processing doesn't work for these images. The black and white conversion makes their skin look weird and it's not very natural. The contrast looks very unnatural on it. On the last picture the highlight areas looks like it was overexposed and then brought way down in post process and the highlights couldn't be recovered.

As far as the posing, I think that straight on works for the last image but not for the 3rd. She looks too serious and it doesn't feel right. The others I think are turned a little too far out of frame. I think it'd be nice if you could coax some more emotion out of them to give the viewer something to connect with.

#1 - Seems cropped too tight. Leave more room on our right.

#2 This one seems soft. Since he's looking right, leave more room there.
His nose "cuts his eye", an awkward pose. Turn him less to our right or much more.

#3 Also cropped very tight. I sense a "deer in the headlights" sort of look. The shallow DOF accentuates her eyes.

#4 I like the crop/composition in this one.

I like the third picture a lot.

For some reason the guy's beard is distracting - perhaps a case of too much sharpening.
