I need some C&C regarding a portrait that I want to convert into B&W.

I don't have a great deal of experience converting skin tones for models with darker skin which is why I welcome some C&C regarding the conversion I've used here. The image here was converted using Silver Efex : Contrast +15, Structure 0, yellow-green filter 100° at 35%

Of course there is a degree of personal interpretation but feedback would be most appreciated.

looks fine to me.

in general, adding orange removes blemishes/freckles
adding blue enhances them.

In your picture I'd be tempted to add some structure just into the shadows.

Thanks

Would you do that by increasing overall structure from the main slider ?

Same for me, great as is, but the loss of details in the hair's shadow leave me just a tad on my appetite. Other than that an exquisite portrait.

Well Done Ian

First, my eye goes to the tat ...and its oof ... and only then do I notice her eyes Weird, but the oof tat spoils it IMHO.

So I think if you shoot people with tats, broaden the depth of field and keep both eyes and tats in focus.

Thanks guys.

Interesting feedback regarding structure. I will dial that up a bit without getting too carried away to bring out too much tonal contrast.

As for the tatoo in focus (although off topic ) that is also a good point !

No, within the sliders for structure there is a drop down (click the arrow on the left) that allows you to set structure for shadows, midtones and highlights independently.
