6D, 70D, EOS-M.

Sans lenses, shooting for nearly all occasions for less than $3500?

Let's see:

"Reach," speed, feature set, and video AF with the 70D.
Image quality, low noise, and all of the other accoutrements of FF with the 6D.
Form-factor, ease-of-carrying, along with good still and video image quality, with the EOS-M.

What else is needed?

Pro AF?
High FPS?

But for the money that looks like a great basis for a well-rounded system.

G1X + 5D3

The EOS M can't take an underwater housing that I know of. Dyad?

Replace 70D with 7D II?

I'm actually hoping that the 7D II is the first single-digit Canon DSLR to get an articulating screen, but I know that is pretty far fetched. Still, it would be the one addition to the current 7D (aside from DPAF) that would truly upgrade it's versatility.

I too am VERY intrigued by the possible specifications for a 7D II but at this writing the camera body does not exist.

This thread is for current bodies and lenses available for purchase now.

Cameron, I think you nailed it for your own description of uses.
I don't have any of the three (have to make do with 1DX and 5D3 and iPhone) so I'll go with a retro suggestion:

Mamiya RB67 (in lieu of 6D)
Canon F1 with motor drive (for 70D)
Olympus XA (for EOS-M)
Yeah, I know, the lenses don't interchange. It just shows how much better things are now.

Seeings as I have zero desire for an EOS-M, I will stick with my 6D and 7D as my Dynamic Duo.
If I want something small, I would go with a G1X or SL1 over the EOS-M.

Hmm, EOS-M is way down my list of possible compact cameras. It's only viable in the US where it's at crazy run-out prices, but no such price drops down here. My staff price is a hell of a lot dearer than US price. Then there's the appalling small selection of lenses. Has to be NEX or m4/3 at the moment. Hopefully M2 is a vast improvement and they add 4-5 more lenses very rapidly. But I'd like to see sales numbers, as Nikon's V and J cameras are tanking big time and the EOS M really only has good IQ going for it.

I had the 5DIII, 7D and M. But, last weekend I decided that I didn't need 7D (+17-55 2.8, 10-22). They went to my daughter. I just wasn't using the 7D and she can let me use it if a requirement comes along. Everyone's requirements can be different, but for me the 5DIII and M is a better combination than the 6D, 70D and M for the money. I just found that I would always prefer to use FF for the IQ, but I was not FL limited.
