Posted this on the Canon Forum since I made these for Canon lenses, but posted here also because you can make them for any brand.

Lenscoats for these lenses will cost you about:
100-400 - $80
400 f5.6 - $80
400 DO - $100

I made my own from one running foot of 3mm neoprene B foam. Cost of the neoprene $13 and I had a bottle of Pliobond glue, but figure maximum of $8 for the right glue. Total cost of $21 to do the three lenses, compared to $260 if I had bought Lenscoats.

Not as professional-looking, but they do the job for me.
