This is pretty cool.... but you gotta lose the Masterlock.... without the lock, it would be a better shot imo.... where the hell are you that you are getting these cool throw backs anyways?

It's a scene I'd expect to be rendered better with a wider range of contrast and more gentle colors. I'm guessing you wanted high contrast/saturation for some reason?

Yup, I like it this way....other ways also.

Bob

Kinder, gentler rendition...sans padlock too. I guess I've looked at this version so often it has lost its immediate appeal

I rather enjoyed the grungier processing from the first, but without the padlock.... cool image.

Maybe some selective gamma/exposure changes, selective sharpening, and some vibrance bump?

Love the composition, complex patterns, and feel. But an image between your first and "kinder / gentler" would be sweet. Auntie just about nailed it (IMO). Jim

Thanks Jim,

I'm moving that way too. But, I still have a fondness for the wild side, perhaps because the reality is a quite flat grayed weathering of all the exterior wood on all buildings.

Appreciate your thoughts.

I like the first iteration best, sans padlock.

Monochrome works ok for me but I would remove all or some of the monochrome treatment from the lantern, it gets lost with the monochrome rework. I would like to see the lantern processed somewhere between your 2nd image and Karens, but not sure how it would actually look.
