Dropping my daughter at college in Lancaster, Pa, railroad siding across the street from the hotel, couldn't resist even though there were no trespassing signs. Made me think of the great Winston Link...a mostly bygone era.
Any pp suggestions appreciated.

A man after my own heart ... here's a couple of links you might be interested in (on the subject of trespassing vs. getting the shot).

The cardinal rule is to get the shot first and let them ask questions later.
Last Spring I was on a business trip, waiting in Cape May,NJ to take a ferry to Lewes,DE. With time to kill, I had my camera out taking photos in the outdoor automobile waiting area. I probably stuck out as I was photographing shadows and geometric patterns near an off limits area. Next thing I know there's a security officer questioning what I'm doing. Although I explained myself and began to show him the shots on my card, he insisted on seeing my license and getting my social security #. He said, "We need to make sure that you're not Al Queda." So I respectfully gave him everything he asked for, as there was nothing to hide. Not sure if I ended up on a watch list.

Yup ... we are perceived as a very peculiar lot aren't we.
