Thanks for welcoming non steam, Dennis. Great thread. On a nice autumn day,I caught this old one coming down the line from an old train museum in Elgin IL. They send various trains out to a stop in the forest preserves to bring people to and from the museum.

At Grycksbo on June 6th again.

Dalmas 2013

The E-class has inside cylinders which looks a bit strange compared to American steam........

No turntable at Grycksbo. Running tender first back to Falun.

Great thread, dennist - It's become an album of railroad images.

Dalmas, your Swedish train really has character. Do those red flaps in front correspond to the 'cowcatcher' on American Trains?

Really like this thread. I wish some posted what they shot it at. As a newbie it would help.

That's right Craig.
The snow plow blades are used when there isn't heavy snow. Then the larger snow plows are fitted.

We have plows in the Dakotas too. What the general public calls the "cow catcher" is technically known as the "pilot" on the railroad. They do a pretty good job on light snows, say up to about 3 ft deep. After that, we bring out the bigger plows.

Hey, nice going on the TS effect, Rob. It really does look like a home train set.
