Nice shots Jim, the yawn really proves this critter is not a rodent. I am curious at the altitude where you shoot these. The Cascade variety we have around Central Oregon can be found down to sea level on the Columbia River. They are usually thought of as living in extreme weather over timber line habitats.

The pikas in Banff tend to be near the tree line around 6000 feet or more.

Very nice Jim!! I sure like that stretch in #1. I was up in Jasper this past weekend, and things were slow there two. All the critters were making themselves scarce. While on a hike we came to a great boulder field that would be primo pika habitat. Nada. Not even a whistle. Just one ground squirrel. You were lucky to find your little friends and be able to snap some lovely shots.
