maybe better ISO performance? Matching the d7100 3/4 stop on 7d would be nice.

I am sure there are more but the above would have me buy 7d v1 over 70d, even if I was buying now. I have not heard yet that the iso performance of 70d is better than the 7d.

The focusing while videoing is a nice parlour trick but I want a better crop still camera.

Best guess is next year, mid-to-late 2nd quarter announcement for the 7D Mark II, available 3rd quarter!

The 70D is an upgrade to the 60D...it is not a 7D or 7D Mark II...it's Canon's new xxD crop sensor body. The xxD design was re-defined/designed with the 60D for it's target market demographic, the joystick for xxD bodies is gone, the combo QCD is a 'permanent' refinement; 'new feature'...the days of old xxD design are no more...xxD bodies are the Rebel's bigger brother, a heavier/larger bodied shooter with a 'real' prism based viewfinder, better AF and higher FPS.

Repeat this out loud; shout if you need to, stomp your feet also, 'this is not the 7D upgrade', repeat this again until your head falls off, your family has an intervention before committing you your local funny farm, or you find the police are at your side with guns drawn, etc.

It will. Canon themselves specifically said that is it coming. This was quite some time back. They hinted not before late 2013 (which probably means 2020 with the rate they have been working lately and delays with everything

better AF, joystick, CF cards for fast buffer clearance and ML RAW video ability, C2 and C2 on the mode dial, good dynamic range at lower ISOs

Difficult to have any info on a rumoured camera. Any information is pure speculation or a feature wish-list. I do think it will be announced in Q2 2014(more speculation) and relatively expensive(>$2k - but hey...who knows).
