Trying to update my D3 from 2.02 to 2.03

I've loaded Part A on the CF, inserted to slot 1, gone to firmware, update, YES, but the option bar on YES is not the golden color, it's a hue of RED.

It will not respond to OK, it just sits.

Ideas? I'm stumped. I've update this body 2 times now.. Never seen this before.

As a side note, when I tried to format the card to reload the firmware on it alone. The body shows a RED line in the format option too.

Try a different card. Sounds like it is flawed in a way that only flash memory knows how it can.

I'd try a different card and see what happens.

Is your battery charged? Don't know why but my D700 complains even if it's at 75%.

Yep. That was it. I was at about 93% and it wouldn't budge.

Topped it up, and Bob yer Uncle.

Thanks guys.

I;ve updated my D3 to A-2.03 and B-2.02 should the B go to a 2.03? What is the B, is it lens or flash?

Which OK button were you pressing ? The one on the left, or the SET button on the right ?
Did you use the same one after recharging the battery ?

David, both are at 2.03.

They both come in the archive (.RAR I think).

And I used the 'OK' button on all attempts. It really was a battery issue this time. Weird.

there is a difference between level and real capacity. now I don't know the age of the battery you used but it wants to ensure real capacity so that it can complete the process. writing to a PROM is a high energy consumption process. one that you don't want to fail in the middle.

your battery may show full but it may not have the total capacity it had when new. you can read about this all over this site.
