| p.1 #1 · An enlightened farmer |
A wheat field next to one of our local nature reserves has been left uncultivated in a wide strip along one edge and the flowers are attracting a good range of butterflies and a large number of 6-spot (may be 5-spot if somebody is more knowledgeable??) Burnett moths which fly and feed in the daytime
The real gem of the day though was waiting for me in the car park when I got back to the car; a rather tatty Silver Washed Fritillary, it's the largest species of British fritillary and a new species to me, so quite excited to find it.
