Munching grass while getting a gentle steam bath.
Life isn't all bad for these big beasts.

Steamed beef, yum!

The mist on the right bugs me a bit, possibly you can crop some of it out Charlie

Great shot showing this guy in his somewhat alien (at least to most of us) world. Nice work Charlie!

Thanks Dorian, Morris, Birdie, Ron, Tim, Socrate and Kenny.
The backlight was a problem because if I lighten the bison's very dark fur, I blow out the white steam from the hot pools.
And this bison was a bit small and not one of the 2,000 lb gnarly bulls that are so impressive.
But I took the shot because of all the surrounding steam- so it will stay .
Those who have been to Yellowstone have experienced one of the common problems that limits your perspectives- when close to the bubbling cauldrons you MUST stay on the boardwalks; it's not only park law, but to stray off them might kill you because some of the surrounding "crust" is thin.
And falling into a pool of boiling water is not a good idea.

Cool shot Charlie. Hot water and meat in close proximity has the potential for soup. I'm sure it happens there once in a while.

Thanks David and Ken.
I'm sure that bison, elk and other wildlife have fallen into the hot pools and died.
I know for a fact that people have.

Nice one Charlie, with such wonderful animals and the geothermal backdrop that has got to be a terrific place to take photo's.

Paul.
