I apologize if this question has been discussed before.

I'm looking for what options I have for a portable battery pack for 2 BRX 500's. I would like to take them on location from time to time and will need power.

Does anyone have any recommendations for what I should/could be using?

I appreciate any/all help! Cheers.

Greg

You want to use a portable power source with a (pure sine wave ) inverter. http://www.innovatronix.com/ has some really nice products that will work with your flashes. Any of the Explorer models will work. Which one you choose can depend on how light you want it to be, how many flashes you want, and how fast you want your recycle times to be. The Mini is really nice for the most portability.

Thanks so much Gregg. This was exactly what I was after.

In your estimation would a Vagabond battery pack work as well?

I actually built my own using a 600 watt inverter as I wanted the power and speed to use with 2 RX-600's. I don't have experience with PCB stuff but others have used the older Vagabond with Elinchrom. I don't know about long term use though. Personally I wouldn't trust their Mini with your Elinchrom. There is too much voltage drop. Their Einstein strobes are designed to handle that drop. That's what makes the Innovatronix brand nice as they have larger inverters and have tested them with Elinchrom and other brands. Or you can spend the big bucks and look at the Profoto Bat Pack.
