p.1 #1 · Looking Over Me

Have been wanting to covert everything lately. Just really enjoying working in B&W. Don't know if these are to dark. I seem to be processing a lot of stuff on the darker side. Sometimes I feel like the details in the shadows are just distracting from what ever it is I'm going for.

Too dark for you guys? C&C appreciated.

I personally like the darkness here. Mom's glasses might be a bit distracting though.

Thanks for your comments Douglas. If i had any photoshops skills at all i would try and remove the glasses, among many other things i have wanted to do in photoshop. Unfortunately those things are above my pay grade (which in this case is zero).

I like both images. My only thought here is the title of the second image.

Please don't tell her it's a bear. Bears don't have wings. Owls do.

Not too dark for me. The bright spots are exactly where they need to be.
I sometimes struggle with letting go of detail in shadows, whether it seems necessary or not.
Good for you for letting it go.

I think both of these are exceptional images!
Incredible "gets."
Incredible processing.
Too much or too little contrast is determined by two things:
1. The photographer's wants.
2. The wants of anybody who gives the photographer a big bag of money for the pic.
You seem to be doing great by following your instincts; keep following them .

Thanks for the comments everybody. Really enjoying working in B&W. Hoping that it will help me focus more on composition and content. Then maybe as you say Charlie the bags of money will follow. Just kidding though. Really I am just having a great time having a creative outlet.
