I know there are some technical issues here.
Does the image work for you despite them?
Thanks
Scott

A fine image, Scott.
Two of the biggest beasts and they pay no attention to each other.
But if a pride of lions wanders by... ATTENTION!
Interestingly- although you've isolated these animals from the vastness of the flat plains- it seems to me to actually emphasize that vastness.

I am glad that the sense of scale came through.

Wow! Beautiful! And as Charlie said, you have very effectively displayed the vastness of the land and still shown the majesty of the elephants. A simple and powerful image.
thank you so much, Jim. It is a wondrous place.

The only technical issue I can see at this particular size is, that it is more of a wildlife photo than a landscape photo. But it is very enjoyable nevertheless.
OK, too many individual thank you posts.
So, thanks for all the kind words and ++++s, luke, Sharona, Bob, CW100, Sasha and Greg.
The reception is better than I had hoped.

I love the color and composition of this image. It is beautiful in it's simplicity. I really don't notice the softness of the elephants much at this size. I use the 500mm with 1.4 on a FF and notice that unless the subject fills about 30% of the frame or more ,,,I lose that critical sharpness we all love to see. 2 questions 1.Was this image cropped much from the original? and 2. What was your approximate distance from these incredible animals? Thank You.
sparkee,
First, thanks for the comment and I am so glad you enjoyed.
Second, the image is about 95+% the original horizontally, with a crop of the vertical dimension of about 30%.
Not sure of the distance. I would estimate 200-300 feet to the elephants.
