What is the point of that huge, ugly grip riveted on? It defeats the purpose of a compact camera. Maybe Fresenius could make a grip for the standard RX100 at a reasonable cost.

It's number two on my list. Right after the Canon EF 200-400/4(5.6)L IS.

The 1600/5.6 and 1200/5.6 aren't on the list, yet, 'cause I'm waiing for the IS versions.

But that would be taken care of by the OMD or the soon to be released Sony FF NEX,

There are a lot of point 'n' shooters that will buy their elusive "pro" photographer status, rather than earn it. $2500 is chump change to many in this consumer group. It will sell alot. Shooting decent photos these days is easier than ever. Add the label, pull it out from your pocket and your friends will think you are a pro.

We hear this all the time. "Hey nice camera, no wonder you take great pictures".

With a name like Smuckers, you know it's gotta be good.

Likewise...

With a body this fugly, you know the sensor has to be outstanding!

Except they'll get more 'Pro' cred from buying a Leica, which a lot more people have heard of than Hasselblad, and you can get a LOT more Leica for the same cash (and I never thought I'd be saying that).

The problem with the Lunar is it's M240 money. The Stellar ranges from X1 to the new X Vario in price. Why wouldn't I buy the better camera with the more prestigious name?

I suspect the Stellar is going to sell a bunch of X Vario's when people walk in and the sales rep says 'for a $100 extra I can get you into a Leica'

At least with my Hasselblad anatomical grip from the 60's I could put it on or remove it at will.

Leica has it's existing distribution agents and the Internet community of reviewers and forums serves to build interest for the products. But I am really curious to know which (boutique?) outlets will stock these new Hasselblad cameras.

It might be interesting if the internals were up to date and not last years model.

I don't know why you're all getting so worked up about this - it's clearly a VERY exotic piece of rainforest timber, so it's going to be suitably expensive, to protect the ecology of our planet from mass sales of this camera to plebean purchasers

I'm not sure that B&H qualifies as a "boutique shop, but I'm confident that they'll have it.

That looks like a tumor on an otherwise attractive camera.

Maybe they're going after that Pentax look with the wood

That Olive tree wood looks very nice. A little piece of veneer and I could upgrade my NEX 5n, sell it for a couple of grand perhaps.

I honestly don't know anyone who buys these things, online or off. Will anyone 'fess up to owning one? I think the only ones 'in the wild' had to have been giveaways, promotions, raffles, or the like.
