Your level of creativity has really improved dramatically in the last few years man. So cool to see! People seem to really be having fun with you, which makes sense because I don't think any of us has ever had a bad time when you were around.

There's a couple fine details here that you missed.

It's almost never good when a man and woman are posed the same. Either he'll look girly or she'll look manly. In this one she looks manly. It's the hands and the arms. If her hands were fully in her pockets and her elbows back, you've got a winner:

Nothing happening here. If you're going to try slow shutter, make sure we can tell what's happening. I can't:

I think this would have been improved by getting 1 foot higher or 1 foot lower. The water line intersects them at an awkward place:

Let's resume this conversation in Mexico, shall we??

Hey all, thanks for the compliments! =) I finally feel like I'm getting somewhere with my photography this year. I think I realized I'm a 24-70 shooter and not a prime guy and I don't know exactly why it works better but I seem to be happier overall with my sets.

@Scot - That is a light painting shot using an led panel.

@Tony- Thanks man and yes, Mexico, can't wait to see you and Amy. It's been too long!

@Farid - All you have to do is talk to Merks and it's arranged *BOOM*

Wow Shane! I'm not sure I can offer up too much! Your posing is super strong! Your client interaction is obviously great! Processing is fantastic. Your vision is coherent.

All I have are nits:

Man, would have loved a kiss of light on her face here...would have killed:

really strong stuff, Shane! wish I had more for you!

I think this is cute! But I'd crop it tighter to exclude the slider on the left of the frame:

Hey dude - solid set, really liking your stuff lately.

Ok, some C&C, just picking really;

2. Not liking the pose, looks a little stiff.
5. love this
6. I'd prefer heads in a clean spot, horizon shouldn't be cutting their heads
7. I'd clean up some her hairs in PP but a great shot
15. love it
16. nice, maybe get some right arm separation?
17. careful of the horizon placement, cutting through their heads again
18. either more landscape in the bottom or none at all. What little bit there is could do with correcting as its barrel distorting upwards at the ends. Great light though dude
19. love it
22. sweet
24. awesome. I find the window top left distracting. maybe a tighter crop?
27. Not sure, maybe both silhouette rather than him lit and her not?
29. haha, nice
31. I think this would be better with either more black or more sky.

Solid dude as I said, above points are just my 2c

great mix of portraiture and storytelling!
I have been struggling lately with how much "stuff" to add to shots in order to make photos cooler or more interesting (by stuff I mean light mostly but could stretch all the way to places and backgrounds).
You have done a nice job blending everything... my only critique would just be to not be afraid to shoot wide and get in close during weddings to tell more of a story. I realize a lot of these shot are from engagement sessions but you know what I mean!

Thanks Doug!

That is some good advice on shooting tight. I actually used to do waaaay more of that and needed the reminder.
