My favorite is the third image, which seems to have a bit of everything (aesthetic appeal, behavior, environment). It's also quite striking that the crests are so visible in most of these birds. (I guess they're part of the breeding plumage, but seem harder to see in the "real" double crested cormies). Man, that blue color is something else!

Thanks for the thoughts Greg! Yes the crests are well defined but as you say that is breeding plumage. The double crested become quite profound in breeding plumage as well. I guess in this case Mr Brandt won out the naming rights!
