many thanks all! i was pretty happy with this set. it was a 'weird' event in that there was nothing really going on...nothing was planned. and jeff was great about it. he told me to just shoot whatever interested me. so i did. i just sort of hung out with people and took photos. one thing i learned about 20 minutes in was that i wanted to capture the mood/tone of the event so i shot a bit wider than normal for many more environmental shots than i normally do.
these images were either shot with a 5d3 or 5d2 and high ISOs (except the flash stuff). i was going to knife jeff in his neck and steal his monochrom, but hes a really nice guy
bri, good call on #5. this venue has some of the worst overhead lighting that just gives a RED color cast to everything. 5 was shot under that lighting so i toned the red channel down in my conversion. scott, thanks for the suggestion, but I want to put the people in the context of the larger room for that shot. i just wish i hadnt cropped their legs.
