Okay it didn't, but it looked pretty cool anyway. I'm haven't shot many engagement sessions recently, but I'm fairly happy with the way they came out.

Let me know what I could have done better -

Lovely set! I love the reflection in the water!

Since you asked, the only thing I would have likely done differently is on your last photo. I would not have put the B&G in line with the tree.

Really nice. I agree though the last photo the couple gets lost in the trunk of the tree. Really like the reflection shot and the leading lines of it.

Thanks all - my intention with the tree shot was to have the couple completely 'inside' the trunk area, if that makes any sense, and then backlight them, separating them from it. Didn't quite work out that way, but I think I could have posed them better too.

probably should separate the 2nd and 3rd with some other shots in between since they are almost identical poses.

Id also darken out the staircase a bit more, as they couple gets lost and the stairs pop out more than they do.

Very nice set, I especially like how you incorporated their reflection in the puddle

Nice set. Is it just me or is he underdressed compared to her (ie shorts and thongs Vs. dress and heels). Not much you can do about that once it starts though.

My favourite is the staircase shot #8, I also like the strong lines in #9.

these are great! The shots themselves, the compositions, light, etc. Probably my only crit would be the interaction. A lot of the poses seem 'static'. Now, that may be their personality but one of my goals for 2013 is to try and get some sort of 'action/interaction/expression, etc' from my clients.

But I'm just nitpicking. Great job.

Btw, #6 is nice.

Clean, solid, symmetry Those were my first thoughts.

The last shot is really good and I think represents your brand very well! I also like the above shot on the stairwell. 5 is nice as well...great light.

I personally am not a huge fan of engagement shoots but when I do them on the rare occasion I suggest doing something that they like to do (Tony does this really well). The guy seems like he was only doing it because she wanted to! And she seemed like she was doing it because she read on the Knot that she should do it! While I see lots of clean, well executed shots, I dont see a whole lot of personality coming from them. Maybe that's just who they are?

This set is technically fine, but it's incredibly static. Look through and just notice how many photos are them standing straight up. They need motion, variety, action to add some interest and loosen things up. A photo like #4 just seems like a couple that doesn't really like touching.

Although we all shoot the same pose a few times, I'd be careful posting #2 right beside #3 since they're very similar.

I think this shot would've been better without backlight. Maybe a silhouette against the water or lit from the front. Beautiful composition though:

These shots, conversely, could use some extra light to differentiate your couple:

I think you need to do more stuff like this... go nuts. Try new stuff. Them laughing here or with their heads closer would have been killer:
