Recommendation for Video Card

p.1 #1 · Recommendation for Video Card

Any recommendations out there for a reasonably priced video card that will work with a Colormunki Display? My editing machine is a newly built Win 7 Pro PC which has provided a huge boost to my productivity, however it appears the integrated graphics on the i7 processor will not accept changes to the LUT for calibration. I run CS6 and LR

X-Rite tech support has not been of much help other than suggesting I run a tool, which states the Colormunki software cannot access the LUT.

It seems in the years since I last purchased a video card that the majority of cards now are intended for gaming and 3D, dual slot, etc, etc. I'd like to spend less than $100 if possible, but that is not a firm ceiling. I'd appreciate any thoughts or suggestions.

If you are not a gamer and do not intend to use GPU compute for heavy video editing with software like Premiere Pro, go with an inexpensive card like a Nvidia GT620 or GT630 ($30 to $50). If money is not an object, get a GTX650 or GTX660 ($100 to $200), but those are overkill for LR/PS work.
