First time posting. This was only my second time shooting a drift practice day held in Victoria, Australia. All shot on a rental 70-200 f2.8 L and hand held. Think my panning is getting better.
Any CC would be appreciated.

Haha thanks. It's just a practice day of driving so no competition. YouTube Formula Drift USA you will understand what a comp day is like.

I'd suggest you consider a higher shutter speed, 1/100-1/125 is where I've found the sweet spot. These shots are good, you definitely have an eye for it, but there's some definite motion blur in a lot of them, which is to some degree unavoidable. It's always a trade off, but I find a touch faster than where you're at helps. Also what camera are you using, you may want to tweak your color profile in camera or work on your post processing, these images have solid colors, but they lack a certain "pop". For a second attempt you're definitely on the right track. I shoot for the Midwest Drift Union (A Pro-AM feeder series for Formula D) myself. You can check out my work at www.downshiftphoto.com. I haven't written blog posts for last weekends race and support events but the pictures are uploading into the gallery right now. Feel free to hit me up if I can help you with suggestions, I'm by no means a pro but I've been doing motorsports as a hobbyist for about 4 years.

I noticed the same things as mmorey79. The panning is good but the cars are not quite tack sharp. I like the sense of motion but a little faster shutter speed might improve it more. I also think the colors could pop more. One other thing I noticed is the crops seem to have the subject dead center in the frame. For example the 2nd shot I would like to see cropped from the top to eliminate the sky and the blurry object in the top right corner. I've never tried to shoot motorsports but I like these drift shots.

Thanks for the awesome feedback guys. Will be sure to try the suggested tips. I did a few shots at slightly higher shutter speeds but found the background blur was missing somewhat. WIll also check camera settings, I'm halfway through a course so could have been messing with WB settings etc.

Ps I have more photos here although FB likes to compress them :-(
Looking through them again I see what you mean with the colour....

The blur depends a lot on the relative position of you and the car, when the car is very close you'll find it's movement relative to the background gets "faster". The closer you can get to the cars the faster they look. Here's an example at 1/125, I don't think anyone would consider this to not have good "motion":

Of course, there's situations where background blur (other than out of focus blur) isn't really posible, this one was at 1/500th which is usually what I shoot competition tandems at, you can pan tandems but it's HARD, and wouldn't work at all for this angle):

I've found that using a tool like Lightroom and then going back and looking at my "keepers" to see what settings I used gives me a better idea where to go next time out. Also being extremely conservative about what I consider a keeper has helped me get better over time. Typically I never publish more than 30 shots from a competition event, and more like 20 from a practice or smaller event.
