I'd suggest you consider a higher shutter speed, 1/100-1/125 is where I've found the sweet spot. These shots are good, you definitely have an eye for it, but there's some definite motion blur in a lot of them, which is to some degree unavoidable. It's always a trade off, but I find a touch faster than where you're at helps. Also what camera are you using, you may want to tweak your color profile in camera or work on your post processing, these images have solid colors, but they lack a certain "pop". For a second attempt you're definitely on the right track. I shoot for the Midwest Drift Union (A Pro-AM feeder series for Formula D) myself. You can check out my work at www.downshiftphoto.com. I haven't written blog posts for last weekends race and support events but the pictures are uploading into the gallery right now. Feel free to hit me up if I can help you with suggestions, I'm by no means a pro but I've been doing motorsports as a hobbyist for about 4 years.
