p.1 #1 · Question about LR4

I'm fairly new to LR4 and Photoshop for that matter. I've seen a process of completely blowing out an image in white or black to find the highlights or the opposite of highlights in order to correct them. Any one know what I'm talking about and if you do, how do you do it? Is it a special key sequence or setting that has to be made. I saw in a LR tutorial here but I'm having a hard time finding it. Thanks in advance for any help. I'm using a Mac if that makes any difference.

Never mind, I found it. You have to hit the alt or option key to activate that.

Or you can use the highlight indicators in the Develop module histogram (at the top left and top right of the histogram window) to make burnt out areas red and dark areas blue. These settings can be "sticky" so that you don't need to hold the Alt key down.
