Its been a while since I've done any wildlife shooting and I sure do miss it. I had a chance to shoot in the everglades last week and really had a great time.
My wife's family has a reunion every two years in South Florida, the last two times I've gone out to the glades and due to the time of year (heat, mosquitoes, and rain)) I just did not do very well. I can tell you July is not the prime time to visit the Everglades!
Anyway this year I was not going to go but I figured I'd give it a shot, I got there about 7AM and the first 45 minutes was just me and some gators!
As I was walking on one of the trails I saw a Great Egret, not a great find but hey its a bird so I set up to take some photos.
As I was snapping some shots I heard the familiar sound of a green heron, I looked to my left and found this guy
He was the first of 3 Greenies I was able to shoot that day, I literally have about 250 images of them. This was a real treat for me as they are one of my favorite birds to shoot but not easy to find in my area.
Sorry for the long story
Anyway here are some of the images, all were shot with my new 800E and a 3002.8 VR I also used a 1.7TC on a couple
Found this guy when I was taking some landscape shots he must have caught 6 or more fish while I was watching him
Thanks for lookin!
