p.1 #1 · Batch resizing program

Are there any programs out there (preferrably free) where a person can take a hundred or more photos and resize them at once?

I have Picasa and of course you can batch handle in photoshop but the best resizing app [free] that I have found is Fastone Photo Resizer I use it to upload downsized images to my skydrive

Dummy me, I didn't realize Photoshop would do that. Guess I had that all along. Thanks for the suggestions.

I've done thousands of images in Gimp . I think it was a plugin though

Hi,

Take a look at ImageMagic (http://www.imagemagick.org/script/index.php) it's open-source and can do a bazillion things including batch re-size.

If you have photoshop, just make an action and you can add other things to it like sharpening, contrast adjustments etc. You can set it up to resize as a percentage of the original or a particular pixel size.

Ditto.

if you happen to be fluent in computer scripting, the ImageMagick package contains a program called "convert". I use a simple loop which calls something like "convert $i -geometry 640x480 small_$i" for each file.
