zalmyb, I'm jealous of your RZ67...I didn't realize they had a polaroid back for those...now you've piqued my curiosity... You're getting some great looking shots out of that 3000b -- Love shots 2 and 3 (and your photo hanging display behind the kids is awesome too). And you're right, the shots I posted here weren't too bad (nice light), but some of my other shots are really dark. And yeah, my Land is usually at +1.5; these were at +2 I think.
a.Rod, your first shots look great! The black and white looks great! I love the depth. Looks like a scene from Phantom of the Opera. And I think I'm even more jealous of your Rollei!
Matthew, I'm always split on whether or not I like the little "defects" the rollers can give photos. Sometimes it makes a cool effect like in your couch photo, but other times, it ruins a nice shot. I really like your first shot (Jack, a Goat, and a Bear) and that shot of Jenna really jumps off the screen. She really pops from the background.
This is probably my favorite shot on Fuji 3000b - My mom and step-father a few months before he passed away
And here's a shot with the print and the negative scanned for comparison.
I'm sorry for your loss, I still think about my own father's passing about six years ago due to cancer. I am thankful that you shared these photos, and for your comments about mine, sadly, mine are not very up to par with the great examples shown here, however, I am working on getting some light to alleviate some trouble areas, for example, under exposure! I had spent some learning time previously on my camera, so much so, that I had ignored a minor, yet crucial aspect, the exposure compensation, and the ISO values were in err, so for the most part these were the results of my folly!
I have had some rather long down time due to some unfortunate family events lately, half my home had black water flood since May, and the wait and see insurance game has caused me to still have half a home, with flooring still needing to be replaced, and furniture needing to be found as well!
The plus side is that I was able to paint my walls and raised ceiling white, and that resulted in a very camera friendly environment, in my opinion! I think that this should aid my lack of flash, and strobes, however, it is sill unusable, and I still lack flooring! Well, enough about my troubled time events, let's shoot! Happy photography, and again thank you very much, for your time, and words! -Americo.Rodriguez
