Not THAT long, but it helps to be on safari for 9 days and see zebras daily. What I didnt know is that zebras often rest their head on other zebras backs. Quite thoughtful of them from a photographic composition point of view. And practical!

They can see predators from every direction that way. The lines going in all different directions also confuses predators, hard to tell how many zebras, which way they are facing, etc.

I really like the image, Scott. The compression of a long lens helps.
I wonder if you also shot this comp with the focus on the first zebra?
That's an awfully fast shutter speed (at the expense of dof). Did you choose it, or is it the auto/default choice?
I set old film cameras manually, and don't really understand much about the operation of current digital cameras. They do so many things that I'm afraid of them .

Charlie,
In the midst of the excitement, ever-changing scenes, subjects, motion and switching between cameras, sometimes I did not shift the settings as much as I might have.
