p.1 #1 · Pano-mania, Version 2.0

The original "Pano-mania" topic lapsed into obsolescence after a month of inactivity.

http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1015017

Thank you so much for all the terrific photos placed on the original thread. I think the topic still has legs and a lot of fine contributors, so I'd like to re-institute the premise.

Same "rules" apply: No rules, other than multiple-shot panorama or photo-composite, and even cropped or panoramic film formats. Any camera and lens combo, even the OEM Canikon variations.

The point is that panoramic photography is Alt by nature -- out-of-the-norm results from out-of-the-norm approach, resulting in striking images.

Kicking off with a couple recent shots from a very old Nikkor 35mm f/3.5 PC lens (pre-AI, circa 1967). 3-shot shifted panos in landscape orientation, one horizontal (also flipped), one vertical. I believe these were shot at f/11 (or f/8). PP in LR4 and PSE 10.

Thanks in advance for your contributions.

Enjoy!

I have diddled around with it in the past, mostly with a 612 back on my 4x5. Lately I've been heavy into box cameras such as Kodak Brownie #2, Agfa Trolix, Zeiss Tengor, Ensign Ful-Vue, etc. A few days ago I received the ULTIMATE box camera--a Kodak Panoram! These were likely the first panoramic camera, made in 1900. Shoots 105 roll film, which is 6x18cm. I'm finding a 120 roll fits fine and will give me 4 shots per roll. I'm loading it up for the first time tonight and will take some shots over the weekend. It's a seriously cool camera!

Here's a run down of the Kodak Panoram No. 1 Model D, which is what I have. The lens swings from side to side--it doesn't have a conventional shutter.

I just purchased a gigapan epic pro and received it yesterday. Lot's to learn but I was able to get this 32 image (8x4) pano from my balcony with a 5DIII and 85mm Zeiss Contax.

The detail in the Minneapolis skyline shot is unreal, rji2goleez.

Here's a handheld one from a few days ago, taken with the Zeiss 35/1.4 & 6D.

I wish I was better at PP, so I could clean up the lines in the water.

A little piece of property in Washington state that my wife and I are looking to buy near my brother, Dave (pictured). Spent a few days picking up fallen limbs and brush and burning a big slash pile. Good times!

A great use for the little Canon G10 camera. Nothing fancy. 4-shot pano, hand held.
